On 22 and 23 November, Fortis Memorial Research Institute, Gurugram (Fortis Gurugram) hosted HemeNext 1.0, a pioneering national conference exploring how genomics, artificial intelligence, robotics and advanced cell therapies are reshaping haematology and infectious disease care across India.

With the nation facing rising cases of blood cancers, immune disorders and complex infections, the two-day event emphasised the growing importance of early diagnosis and personalised, data-driven treatment. More than 150 clinicians attended in person, while over 1,700 participants joined online, including haematologists, infectious disease specialists, bone marrow transplant physicians, CAR-T innovators and young clinicians.
A major highlight was India’s first humanoid healthcare host, Hembot. Powered by NVIDIA Jetson Orin, the robot greeted delegates, guided them to sessions, engaged in discussions and even joined the gala evening. Its presence demonstrated how future hospitals may use humanoid robotics for patient navigation, clinical support, monitoring assistance and uplifting the overall care experience.
The conference’s scientific discussions centred on the growing impact of genomics in diagnosing and treating leukaemia, lymphoma, bone marrow failure syndromes and inherited blood disorders. Experts highlighted advances such as next-generation sequencing for deep cancer profiling, mutation analysis for sharper diagnoses, relapse prediction through genomic algorithms and genomics-based donor matching that improves transplant safety and success.
HemeNext 1.0 also showcased how AI, robotics and next-generation therapies like CAR-T are enabling faster diagnoses, more accurate testing, safer bone marrow transplants and better survival outcomes through personalised treatment pathways. Real-world case discussions and mentorship sessions reinforced how these innovations are improving everyday clinical decisions.
Leaders from Fortis Gurugram shared their commitment to building one of India’s strongest precision-haematology ecosystems, uniting genomics, advanced diagnostics, cell therapies and AI-driven tools to provide comprehensive care for adults and children alike.
HemeNext 1.0 reflects Fortis Gurugram’s vision for compassionate, technology-enabled haematology care that brings renewed hope to patients across India.
