Working as One with Public Hospitals
29 Feb 2020

To help patients affected by the reduction in elective surgeries at public hospitals and to alleviate the burden on public hospitals amid the COVID-19 outbreak, Gleneagles Hospital Hong Kong is offering 70 surgical procedures at special prices for public hospital patients until end-May 2020.

The all-inclusive medical packages cover a spectrum of specialties including orthopaedics, urology, gynaecology and general surgery.

From 20 February until 31 May, patients with appointments scheduled for specialist outpatient services at public hospitals can enjoy medical packages at 20% off the original package fees. Special offers on elective and emergency caesarean section maternity packages are also available to expecting mothers with antenatal appointments at public hospitals or clinics.

Dirk Schraven, Chief Executive Officer of Gleneagles Hospital Hong Kong, said, “Private hospitals play a complementary role in Hong Kong’s health system. As everyone is working hard to combat this epidemic, we are stepping up to support public hospitals in our areas of expertise. During this challenging time, we hope to help provide timely and appropriate care to those patients affected by the reduction in non-urgent and semi-urgent surgeries at public hospitals. We are liaising with more doctors to join this collaborative initiative. Currently close to 20 doctors, including university professors from different specialties, have agreed to join us in helping more patients.”
