Parkway East Hospital has launched its Live Well Centre and Sleep Laboratory, marking a major milestone in its mission to support healthy ageing and wellbeing in Singapore’s eastern community. The opening was graced by Minister for Culture, Community and Youth and Second Minister for Law, Mr Edwin Tong SC, and former Senior Minister of State for Health, Dr Koh Poh Koon.
The Live Well Centre integrates geriatric, sleep, nutrition, rehabilitation and mental wellbeing services under one roof, helping individuals manage age-related conditions, improve sleep quality, rebuild strength after illness and maintain emotional resilience. The multidisciplinary model ensures coordinated care from specialists and allied health professionals, addressing how sleep, nutrition, mobility and mood interact.
Led by geriatrician Dr Seow Chuen Chai Dennis, the Elder Care Clinic provides comprehensive assessments and personalised care plans for older adults with complex needs. The clinic’s approach promotes independence and function, enabling seniors to age well within their community. The Parkway East Sleep Laboratory, developed with O2 Lung Centre, offers overnight sleep studies for patients aged 12 and above. Using advanced monitoring to assess breathing patterns and brain activity, it diagnoses conditions such as sleep apnoea and parasomnias to guide tailored treatment plans.
Mr Teck Lin, Chief Executive Officer of Parkway East Hospital, said the new facilities reflect the hospital’s shift towards holistic, person-centred care. Dr Peter Chow, Chief Executive Officer of IHH Healthcare Singapore, added that the initiative aligns with IHH’s Strategy 2030 focus on preventive health and new care models.
The Live Well Centre and Sleep Laboratory strengthen Parkway East Hospital’s role as a community anchor for holistic health, helping more people live better, longer.
