When a doctor is waiting for a blood test result, what happens inside the laboratory matters. Each stage, from processing a sample to reviewing its findings, helps shape the next decision in a patient’s care.

At Premier Integrated Labs (PIL), automation is helping that journey move more efficiently. Introduced in October 2025, the CAL 8000 by Mindray marked the launch of Malaysia’s first AI-assisted, fully automated haematology system in private practice.
The system brings together sample management, automated blood testing and data connectivity to streamline laboratory workflows. For the teams behind each test, this means less manual handling and greater support in delivering timely, reliable results to clinicians.
Blood testing involves more than analysing a sample. Depending on the findings, further examination may require a blood smear to be prepared and stained for review.
PIL’s implementation of CAL 8000, alongside Mindray’s MC-80 digital cell morphology system, connects these stages through automation. By reducing manual intervention between steps, the laboratory can support a more consistent testing process and reduce opportunities for handling errors.
This connected approach also supports the people whose expertise gives each result meaning. With fewer repetitive tasks, laboratory scientists and pathologists can devote more attention to interpreting findings and supporting clinical decisions.
For PIL, the introduction of CAL 8000 reflects a broader commitment to strengthening diagnostics through technology and collaboration.
“This installation represents more than a technological advancement. It reflects our ongoing commitment to innovation, accuracy, and excellence in diagnostics,” said Hareeff Muhammed, Chief Executive Officer of Premier Integrated Labs, at the launch.
The value of this work extends beyond the laboratory. More efficient testing helps clinicians receive the information they need sooner, supporting timely decisions about what comes next for a patient.
Much of this progress happens out of sight. Yet behind each sample is a person waiting for answers. By improving the processes that bring those answers to clinicians, PIL is advancing IHH’s purpose of touching lives and transforming care, one test at a time.
