IHH PIL MY– Impact of Kidney Failure Risk Equation (KFRE) on Clinical Decision - Making in Malaysia: A Retrospective Cohort Study at Pantai Hospital Kuala Lumpur
Improving Risk-Based Kidney Care Through Automated KFRE Reporting
Researchers at Pantai Hospital Kuala Lumpur are evaluating how automated Kidney Failure Risk Equation (KFRE) reporting can support earlier identification of chronic kidney disease (CKD) patients at risk of kidney failure. The study explores its impact on clinical decision-making, treatment optimisation and nephrology referrals. Accepted abstract is presented at the World Congress of Nephrology 2026.
Understanding CKD Risk and Screening Patterns in Malaysia
Researchers from Premier Integrated Labs analysed more than 196,000 patient records to better understand the prevalence of chronic kidney disease (CKD), albuminuria testing patterns and the real-world use of the Kidney Failure Risk Equation (KFRE) in Malaysia. The study highlights opportunities for earlier detection, risk stratification and intervention among patients at risk of kidney failure, supporting efforts to improve kidney health outcomes nationwide. Accepted abstract is presented at the World Congress of Nephrology 2026.

Data-Driven De-escalation in Radiotherapy
Researchers at Gleneagles Hospital Penang are evaluating how local image-guided radiotherapy (IGRT) data can be used to optimise Planning Target Volume (PTV) margins for breast cancer treatment. By analysing real-world treatment setup data, the study aims to improve radiation precision, minimise exposure to healthy tissues and enhance operational efficiency while maintaining treatment accuracy. The study has been accepted for presentation at the 37th Annual Scientific Congress of the Malaysian Oncological Society.
