Presenting quality projects to nursing peers around the world is just a start. The organisers of the inaugural IHH Singapore Nursing Quality Convention has bold ambitions to make a name at global forums the likes of International Council of Nurses Congress.
Making quality a lifelong journey and everyone’s responsibility was the purpose of the inaugural IHH Singapore Nursing Quality Conference held on 29 and 30 September.
Organised by the Quality and Patient Safety Workplan team, the two-day virtual event saw our IHH Singapore nurses presenting 16 quality improvement projects and sharing best clinical practices and achievements. Topics ranged from achieving zero falls for paediatric patients, management of central venous access devices in adult patients to pandemic response.
Addressing 1,361 participants, IHH Group Head of Nursing Elaine Ng talked about the importance of embracing the ‘Five Practices of Exemplary Leadership’ in our quality journey, namely Synergy, Partnership, Advocate, Critical thinking and Expertise.
The last 18 months have been a tremendous time for our nurses who have borne the brunt of the pandemic. Yet nothing has stood in their way of continually striving for clinical excellence and delivering the best care to our patients. A big thank you to all our superheroes.
