15 Mar 2026

Fortis Hospital Mulund announced the grand inauguration of its cutting-edge 'New Age ER', a next-generation Emergency Department poised to significantly enhance critical care services in the region. This advanced 27-bed facility, including two dedicated isolation beds, integrates pioneering medical technologies and a multidisciplinary approach to deliver rapid, life-saving interventions.

The 'New Age ER' is equipped with advanced resuscitation bays, POCUS-led bedside diagnostics, and ECMO-ready capabilities, ensuring comprehensive support for the most critical cases. It also features fast-track emergency care, expanded observation areas, and digital dashboards for real-time quality monitoring, all designed to optimise patient outcomes and streamline emergency processes.

Shri Hemarajsingh Rajput (IPS), Deputy Commissioner of Police (Zone 7), Mumbai, graced the inauguration ceremony as the guest of honour, underscoring the community significance of this medical advancement. He was joined by Dr. S. Narayani, Business Head – Fortis Hospitals, Maharashtra; Dr. Vishal Beri, Facility Director – Fortis Hospital Mulund; and Dr. Sandeep Gore, Director – Emergency Medicine, Fortis Hospital Mulund. The event also saw the heartwarming presence of three patients whose lives were saved by the Fortis ER team, serving as a testament to the hospital's unwavering commitment to patient care.

"The launch of our 'New Age ER' represents a monumental step forward in emergency medicine," stated Dr. S. Narayani. "Our investment in advanced technology and specialised expertise reflects our dedication to providing timely, precise, and compassionate care when every second counts. This facility is a beacon of hope, ensuring that our community has access to the highest standard of emergency services."

Fortis Hospital Mulund is a recognised pioneer in POCUS-led resuscitation and advanced Point-of-Care-Testing (POCT), enabling rapid bedside diagnostics crucial for accelerating critical decision-making. The department's operational model is fortified by 15 years of robust clinical data and a culture of continuous quality improvement. It guarantees measurable outcomes through 24/7 specialised Emergency Medicine coverage, ECMO-ready resuscitation capabilities, structured triage, and an integrated multidisciplinary response.
