Fortis Hospital Bengaluru has signed a Memorandum of Understanding with Teleflex, a global medical technology company, to set up the UroLift® Centre of Education for South Asia, the first of its kind in the region.
The UroLift® System is an innovative, minimally invasive treatment for Benign Prostatic Hyperplasia, a common condition that causes troublesome urinary symptoms and can significantly affect quality of life. Unlike traditional procedures, the UroLift® System does not involve heating, cutting, or removal of prostate tissue. It offers quick relief from symptoms while preserving sexual function, and often eliminates the need for post-operative catheterisation.
Commenting on the collaboration, Dr Ashutosh Raghuvanshi, Managing Director & CEO of Fortis Healthcare, said: “The healthcare landscape is constantly evolving, and we are committed to bringing the most advanced and effective therapies to our patients. The training sessions will be hosted at Fortis Hospitals at Bannerghatta Road, Bengaluru , and is expected to draw urologists from across South Asia.
