Building Trust From Within
18 Oct 2020

In what was our largest virtual staff event by far, some 2,900 IHH nurses around the world connected on 5 October at the IHH TRUST Nursing Leadership Symposium, to celebrate nursing quality improvement milestones.

Our nurses’ resolve to not let COVID-19 get in the way of continuous knowledge exchange and collaboration was recognised by Dr Kelvin Loh, Managing Director and CEO of IHH Healthcare, in his welcome speech. He thanked our nurses for working tirelessly and courageously during the pandemic and for continuing to deepen trust with our patients as IHH sets out to be the world’s most trusted healthcare services network.

In her plenary address, Elaine Ng, Group Head of Nursing, shared that trust starts from within and it is the foundation for building strong teams, creating a positive work culture and producing results. She urged nursing leaders to inspire trust and gain influence by building credibility at the personal level – through character and competence.

Following that, our nurses from Malaysia, Singapore, Turkey, India, Hong Kong and Brunei selected and entered different breakout rooms to share learnings from their respective markets around the topics of patient safety and quality, nursing leadership and nursing clinical excellence.

True to the theme of the Nursing Symposium, the element of ‘T-R-U-S-T’ came alive as our nurses walked the talk to ‘being Trustworthy, Resilient and United to create a powerful Synergy to Transform nursing at IHH.’
