A Walking Success

Being able to walk out of the operating theatre without any walking aid just three hours after a knee joint replacement surgery - this was made possible for a 51-year-old patient at Gleneagles Hospital Hong Kong with the help of a robotic arm and an outstanding care team.

With over 730 joint replacement surgeries under its belt since 2018, the hospital’s Joint Replacement Centre has recently introduced robotic arm-assisted joint replacement surgery, which offers surgical precision and quicker patient recovery, among other benefits.

Robotic-arm-assisted knee joint replacement offers an implant placement accuracy of 98%, compared with 80% achieved in conventional surgeries.

Kudos to the hospital team for leveraging technology and innovation to give our patients better clinical outcomes and peace of mind.
