Research & Innovation that Transforms Care
10 May 2020

Did you know that there are currently 38 clinical studies and researches being carried out at Pantai Hospital Kuala Lumpur to improve quality of care and clinical outcomes? These are driven by none other than Malaysia Operation’s first Research & Innovation Department set up in November last year.

Senior Research Scientist Dr Wong Shin Yee, a PhD holder in Molecular Medicine, heads the new department, supported by a team of experienced study coordinators and research assistants. For months now, they have been working with different stakeholders on the 38 approved studies that span multiple medical fields.

Cancer therapy is the current research focus, with 14 oncology clinical trials underway relating to breast cancer and non-small cell lung carcinoma. In addition, there are five oncology studies initiated by the consultants at Pantai Hospital Kuala Lumpur to determine the clinical outcomes of cancer patients at Pantai Hospital Kuala Lumpur.

The team is making good headway and looks forward to share their research outcomes soon. Stay tuned.
