When presented with a severely injured crash victim, a multi-disciplinary team at Global Hospitals, Parel rushed to perform an emergency vascular repair and reconstruction surgery that not only saved her limb, but also her quality of life thereafter.

The 28-year-old patient, Zarana, suffered a severe injury to the left upper limb. The accident ruptured a major blood vessel, causing stoppage of blood supply to her forearm and hand. On top of that, she lost a large area of skin and soft tissue on her left elbow and arm, and had multiple fractures.

Under the expert hands of a multi-disciplinary team led by plastic reconstruction surgeon Dr Nilesh G Satbhai, she underwent multiple surgeries to repair and reconstruct her vascular tissue.

Zarana is getting better by the day and we wish her a speedy recovery.
