Pantai Hospital Ampang treated some 200 senior citizens to lunch on 21 September as part of World Gratitude Day.

Held in collaboration with Masjlis Perbandaran Ampang Jaya (MPAJ), this outreach programme aims to provide some relief to the underserved community.

“As a healthcare provider, it is part of our responsibility to care for the people beyond the four walls of our hospital,” said Chong Soon Mei, Chief Executive Officer of Pantai Hospital Ampang.

The beneficiaries are seniors who frequent the three community gardens set up by MPAJ. Beyond fostering a spirit of togetherness within the community, the gardens and their produce provide daily sustenance to the needy, and can even be sold to boost the economy in the municipality.
