Pantai Hospital Kuala Lumpur Powers Malaysia’s Biggest Marathon with Heart
15 Oct 2025

Every effort counts with a record-breaking 42,000 participants registering for the 17th edition of Malaysia’s premier distance running event.

The Kuala Lumpur Standard Chartered Marathon 2025 proudly carries the World Athletics Elite Label Race status, making it the first and only distance running event in the country to receive this prestigious international recognition.

After serving as the official medical provider last year, Pantai Hospital Kuala Lumpur was proud to step up as a Gold Sponsor with the Pantai KL 10KM, while continuing its role as the event’s medical provider.

On the 5 October race day, a team of 498 medical professionals, including World Athletics–certified Medical Directors, worked tirelessly to provide full emergency coverage throughout the event.

“Our ability to mobilise a multi-disciplinary team of medical professionals, including emergency responders, sports physicians, and physiotherapists, is a testament to Pantai Hospital Kuala Lumpur’s capacity and readiness to support high-volume, world-class sporting events like the KLSCM,” said Erica Lam, Chief Executive Officer of Pantai Hospital Kuala Lumpur. “We believe healthcare is not only about treating illnesses – it is also about prevention, wellness, and education to empower individuals to take charge of their health, while ensuring accessibility for all.”

For the second year running, Pantai Hospital Kuala Lumpur also supported the “Medic-On-The-Run” initiative, deploying trained medical professionals who ran alongside participants in both the full and half marathons. Equipped with AEDs and first aid kits, the team was on hand to provide immediate assistance in emergencies, making KLSCM 2025 the first Malaysian race to implement this life-saving concept.

Ahead of the big weekend, Pantai Hospital Kuala Lumpur brought runners, families, and the community together through health workshops, wellness sessions, and expert sharing at the hospital. During the Race Pack collection days, our booth turned health into an experience, with body composition checks, CPR kiosks, fun challenges, and special screening packages.

From pre-race health workshops and on-site screenings to innovative race-day medical support, Pantai Hospital Kuala Lumpur demonstrated its unwavering commitment to community wellness, sustainability, and delivering exceptional healthcare services both inside and outside hospital walls.
