IHH Healthcare is accelerating its expansion in India, as rising healthcare demand drives the Group to scale its operations through integration, capacity growth and innovation-led initiatives.

The healthcare provider reported progress in integrating Fortis Healthcare and Gleneagles Hospitals, India into a unified platform. The move is expected to unlock operational and financial synergies, while strengthening clinical standards and enhancing patient experience across its network.
IHH currently operates 36 hospitals with approximately 6,200 beds in India through Fortis and Gleneagles. The Group has set a clear growth trajectory to expand capacity to 10,000 beds by 2030, with the ambition of becoming one of the top three healthcare providers in the country. This expansion is underpinned by continued investments in hospital infrastructure, clinical talent and operational capabilities to support long-term demand.
IHH’s commitment to the Indian market was reinforced during a recent meeting with Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman. The engagement was led by IHH Chairman Nik Norzrul Thani, who was in New Delhi with members of the Board. During the visit, the delegation toured several key facilities, including Fortis Memorial Research Institute, Fortis Hospital Manesar and Agilus Diagnostics. The visits provided firsthand insight into how clinical capabilities and technology adoption are supporting improved patient outcomes across its India operations.
As part of its broader strategy, IHH continues to invest in advanced medical technologies and digital capabilities. It is also scaling initiatives such as IHH Catalyst | Fortis India Edition, which enables health-tech and med-tech startups to pilot solutions within established hospital systems. The programme is designed to accelerate innovation adoption and deepen collaboration across the healthcare ecosystem.
India remains a key market for IHH Healthcare, with a focus on building a scalable, integrated platform that supports sustainable growth while improving access to quality care. Through continued investments in infrastructure, talent and innovation, IHH aims to contribute to a more resilient healthcare system and raise standards of care across the country.
