Harnessing AI to Advance Patient-Centred Healthcare
16 Jul 2026

Artificial intelligence is rapidly transforming healthcare, creating new opportunities to enhance patient care, improve clinical efficiency and accelerate medical innovation.

At The Federation of Medical Societies of Hong Kong Annual Scientific Meeting 2026, Dr Kenneth Tsang, Regional Chief Executive Officer of IHH Healthcare North Asia and Chief Executive Officer of Gleneagles Hospital Hong Kong, shared his perspectives on the growing role of AI across the healthcare landscape.

Dr Tsang highlighted how AI is increasingly being applied to support clinical documentation, improve diagnostic imaging accuracy and predict patient health risks, helping clinicians spend more time focusing on patients. He also discussed how AI is accelerating medical research and drug discovery, supporting the development of new treatments and their adoption in clinical practice.

While recognising the opportunities AI presents, Dr Tsang emphasised the importance of strong ethical and governance frameworks to ensure patient safety, transparency and public trust remain at the centre of how AI is implemented across healthcare.

Through clinical excellence and innovation, Gleneagles Hospital Hong Kong continues to advance more personalised and patient-first care for the communities it serves.
