From Patient to Donor
18 Oct 2020

After recovering from COVID-19, Dr Prashant Borade, who heads the Critical Care Unit at Global Hospitals, Parel, decided to donate his plasma because he understood the mental and psychological stress that COVID-19 patients and their families had to endure.

Getting infected and recovering from COVID-19 was both a terrifying and emotional experience for Dr Borade. During his treatment, he spent ten days in the very Intensive Care Unit (ICU) he works at.

After overcoming the coronavirus, Dr Borade volunteered to become a COVID-19 convalescent plasma donor. In doing so, he saved a patient who was fighting for his life in the ICU. Kudos to Dr Borade for your empathy and for putting our patients first.
