Gleneagles Hospital Medini Johor enhanced its state-of-the-art Cancer Centre in November 2019 by introducing two new services - Stereotactic Radiosurgery (SRS) and Stereotactic Radiation Therapy (SRT). The hospital also increased its capacity to 170 beds to meet the higher patient load.

SRS and SRT are advanced forms of radiation therapy where high doses of radiation are delivered to small targets within the brain and spine. They are non-invasive; which means patients do not require anaesthetics or incisions. With shorter recovery time, patients can quickly get back to their normal daily routines and enjoy a better quality of life.

Since the launch of the new oncology services in November 2019, the hospital has successfully completed two Stereotactic Radiation Therapy (SRT) surgeries for brain tumour patients with good outcomes.

The hospital’s strong reputation is further enhanced with the addition of 22 beds - one Presidential Suite, two Junior Suites and 19 Single Deluxe Suites - to cater to more patients from the Southern Region of Malaysia as well as medical travellers from Singapore and Indonesia.

In particular, the Junior Suites and Presidential Suite have been popular with mothers to-be, with 21 babies delivered since December.

“We are seeing strong growth from both domestic and medical tourism patients and we want to ensure patients receive the very best that healthcare can offer,” said Chief Executive Officer of Gleneagles Hospital Medini Johor, Jean-Francois Naa.
