Ramping Up COVID-19 Vaccination Efforts

In support of the Malaysian government’s mass vaccination programme, IHH Healthcare Malaysia has been providing vaccinations to the public at the mega vaccination centre in Setia City Convention Centre since 7 June. A majority of its hospitals have also set up vaccination centres to further accelerate the public vaccination programme in the country.

The mega vaccination centre at Setia City is one of several centres set up by the government’s COVID-19 Immunisation Task Force to provide up to 30,000 vaccine shots a day.

Jean-François Naa, CEO of IHH Healthcare Malaysia, said, “The workforce from across our network in Malaysia – Pantai Hospitals, Gleneagles Hospitals, Prince Court Medical Centre and education arm International Medical University – are joining hands to help out at the mega vaccination centre from its commencement until immunity in the community is achieved as targeted. My full appreciation goes to them for their commitment and tireless contribution in providing care at the hospital, operating vaccination centres at their own hospital and now going the extra mile to further expedite the public vaccination programme in the country.”

IHH Healthcare Malaysia has been contributing to the fight against COVID-19 since the start of the pandemic. Recently, its network of hospitals more than doubled its total allocation of ICU beds to treat COVID-19 patients and increased its total allocation of beds to 251 beds.

Our laboratory arm, Pantai Premier Pathology, has also been supporting the nation by continuously increasing its COVID-19 testing capacity, with close to 900,000 tests done as of May 2021.
