Everyday Fortis Heroes: Going Beyond the Call of Duty
30 Apr 2025

At Fortis Hospitals, compassion and courage do not stop at the hospital doors. Time and again, our dedicated medical professionals rise to the occasion - even in the most unexpected places - to save lives and uphold the spirit of care that defines who we are.

In extraordinary acts of courage and compassion, our colleagues from Fortis Hospitals responded swiftly to emergencies, saving lives mid-journey.

On a recent Delhi-Mumbai flight, three doctors from Fortis Hiranandani Hospital, Vashi, swiftly came to the rescue of a diabetic passenger experiencing severe hypoglycaemia mid-air. Recognising the urgency, Dr Priyanka Kale and her team sprang into action, administering sachets of sugar to stabilise the patient's condition. Their decisive action helped him regain consciousness and ensured he safely reached Mumbai without further complications.

In another inspiring incident, Sunita Rani, a nurse from Fortis Escorts Hospital, exhibited exceptional bravery while commuting to work on a bus from Batala to Amritsar. When a fellow passenger suddenly lost consciousness and became unresponsive, Sunita swiftly performed CPR, successfully reviving him before directing him to the hospital for further medical assistance. Her calm composure and timely intervention saved a life, underscoring her unwavering commitment to patient care.

These remarkable acts of courage and quick thinking by our staff remind us all that true care knows no bounds. Let us celebrate and applaud these everyday heroes who live our values and inspire us with their empathy and dedication day after day.
