Only The Best For Our Patients
22 Oct 2021

Gleneagles Hospital Chengdu successfully completed two major hepatobiliary surgeries recently that exemplified the clinical and service excellence of our China general surgery team.

Nothing was left to chance as the medical team pored over each patient’s details and medical history when planning and preparing for the two surgeries.

One patient suffered from advanced cholangiocarcinoma and had undergone biliary stent surgery in another hospital. He was presented to our hospital with yellow skin sclera, upper abdominal pain and severe damage to liver function. The general surgery team formulated a targeted diagnosis and treatment plan to protect the liver and eliminate jaundice through infusion, while providing nutritional support to relieve the patient's discomfort.

The second patient was diagnosed with chronic atrophic cholecystitis with gallbladder stones. He had a stone embedded in the neck of the gallbladder as well as gallbladder atrophy. The team developed a personalised care plan for him that included a laparoscopic cholecystectomy.

Both patients are recovering well and receiving good post-operative nutritional care in the hospital. Kudos to our Chengdu medical team for touching the lives of our patients.
