The hospitals donated S$175,000 to the Autism Resource Centre (ARC) Singapore, which they have adopted as its charity partner.A cheque was presented from the CEOs of Mount Elizabeth Hospital and Mount Elizabeth Novena Hospital to Ms Ho Ching, Advisor to ARC and Ms Denise Phua, President of ARC at the hospitals’ anniversary dinner at Marina Bay Sands Convention Centre.
The donation is part of our efforts in championing a more inclusive society and to celebrate the abilities of individuals with autism.

Earlier this year, the hospitals organised and participated in various activities around this goal. One initiative involved Secondary students with autism from Pathlight School taking part in a first-of-its kind Learning Journey event at Mount Elizabeth Novena Hospital in July.
Mount Elizabeth Hospital also recently employed three persons with autism as healthcare assistants in its pharmacy in September 2019 – a first in this capacity in the healthcare sector.
These three individuals assist the pharmacists and pharmacy technicians in their packing and labelling of medications before dispensing them for the patients.
Proceeds from the various fund-raising activities throughout the year and Saturday’s anniversary dinner will go directly to the charity.
