Prevention Is Better Than Cure
21 Feb 2021

Falls among inpatients are one of the most frequently reported adverse events in hospitals. Yet many a time, they are preventable. To promote patient safety, our nursing team in Malaysia is rallying all parties concerned to do their part to prevent falls through a series of educational videos

20 to 30% of falls can be prevented by assessing risks and identifying interventions to reduce them, according to a report by the Royal College of Physicians. The first animated video aims to educate the patient, care-giver, community and healthcare professional on the risk of falls and self-precautionary measures to prevent it.

The educational video is screened in all our 16 hospitals in Malaysia – in public areas as well as in the wards. It forms part of the patient admission orientation, serving a constant reminder on the different ways an individual can prevent fall.
