Gleneagles Hospital Hong Kong launched a series of fun and educational promotional activities on 15 August in preparation of its first major accreditation.
Dressed as pilots, the leadership team rallied the support of staff in the lead-up to the Australian Council on Healthcare Standards Organisation Wide Survey (ACHS OWS) which will commence in November 2019.
Over the last 20 months, Gleneagles Hong Kong has been busy making preparations for ACHS to benchmark itself as a provider of safe and high quality health services among local and international healthcare players.
The ACHS is an independent, not-for-profit organisation dedicated to improving the quality of health care through continual review of performance, assessment and accreditation. Its survey involves on-site inspection of the hospital and interviews conducted by a team of external independent surveyors from Hong Kong and other countries.
As the accreditation exercise involves all hospital staff from frontline to executives, the promotional events featured fun and educational game booths to prepare them for the upcoming onsite inspections and surveys while fostering staff engagement.
Gleneagles Hong Kong Chief Executive Officer Dirk Schraven, Chief Operating Officer Dr Kenneth Tsang, Chief Medical Officer Dr Victoria, Hong Kong University Professor Joseph Lui and General Manager of Operations and General Administration Wilfred Chiu facilitated the sessions to highlight the significance of the accreditation for the hospital.
