Fortis Hospital Shalimar Bagh Champions Gender Equality with Walkathon
13 Mar 2025
On 8 March, Fortis Hospital Shalimar Bagh celebrated International Women’s Day by hosting a powerful walkathon that brought together 400 participants in support of gender equality.

Aligning with the theme “Accelerate Action for Gender Equality,” participants carried banners and placards that sparked meaningful conversations on the importance of equal rights and opportunities for women.

The Honourable Chief Minister of Delhi, Smt. Rekha Gupta, graced the event and highlighted the significance of prioritising women's education and well-being. She called women "the backbone of our society" and advocated for a future where gender equality is not just a goal, but a lived reality for all.

Following the walkathon, Fortis hosted a Women's Empowerment Programme, which included a panel discussion that addressed the unique challenges women face in healthcare, workplace equality, and the need for inclusive growth.

Dr Ashutosh Raghuvanshi, Managing Director & CEO of Fortis Healthcare, emphasised, “Inclusive growth is not just a vision—it is a necessity for a healthier, more equitable future.”

Facility Director, Deepak Narang, echoed this sentiment, stressing Fortis Hospital Shalimar Bagh's unwavering commitment to supporting women in their roles as caregivers and leaders.

By addressing the critical health challenges women face and promoting gender equality, Fortis remains dedicated to fostering a more inclusive and empowering environment—paving the way for lasting change in every aspect of life.
