Fighting to Flatten the COVID-19 Curve
14 May 2020

Our Singapore Operations team continues to ramp up testing efforts for COVID-19 in support of the nation’s push to stem local transmission through aggressive testing. In addition to conducting swab tests for foreign workers in dormitories, vulnerable seniors in elderly homes, as well as pre-school teachers and staff, Gleneagles Hospital Singapore is also the first private hospital in Singapore to set up Swab-and-Go booths to further increase testing capacity.

Since 17 April, the Parkway Shenton team has been swabbing around 150 to 200 migrant workers daily in various dormitories.

Our hospital teams did more than 4,600 swab tests over three days in May for staff, residents and vendors staying or working across 34 elderly homes under the Ministry of Social and Family Development. They have also been working closely with the Ministry of Education to conduct swab tests for up to 20,000 preschool teachers and staff since 15 May, as the government prepares to reopen pre-school centres nationwide in June.

The Swab-and-Go booths at Gleneagles Hospital Singapore opened on 12 May to provide safe on-site testing at the hospital, in partnership with Temasek Foundation.

As more requests for COVID-19 testing continue to come in, the Singapore team stands ready to support the nation’s effort to flatten the COVID-19 curve.
