Prince Court Medical Centre Champions a Smoke-Free Malaysia through Partnership in JomQuit Campaign
15 October 2024

Kuala Lumpur, 15 October – Prince Court Medical Centre announces its participation in the JomQuit campaign, in collaboration with the Ministry of Health Malaysia, to take an active role in the nationwide fight against smoking.

This campaign aligns with Prince Court Medical Centre’s commitment to promoting healthier lifestyles and reducing preventable deaths caused by smoking.

The World Health Organisation reports that advice and treatment from healthcare professionals can increase a smoker’s chances of quitting by up to 84%.

In recognition of this, Prince Court Medical Centre’s dedicated Quit Smoking Clinic offers personalised, comprehensive care.

The clinic is staffed by a multidisciplinary team of healthcare professionals, including respiratory specialists, counsellors, psychologists, pharmacists and dietitians.

This team provides patients with access to a range of therapies designed to support them through their quit journey. Options include nicotine replacement therapies like patches and gum, along with proven medications such as Varenicline, which can more than double the chances of successfully quitting.

Dr Shuba Srinivasan, Chief Executive Officer of Prince Court Medical Centre, said, “Our clinic is not about medical treatments – it is about creating a supportive environment where people feel empowered to take control of their health. We are here to help Malaysians live longer, healthier lives, and even if you have tried to quit before, we are ready to support you in trying again.”
