Kuching, 24 February 2025 – IHH Healthcare has officially broken ground on Gleneagles Hospital Kuching, marking a significant expansion of its internationally recognised Gleneagles brand in Sarawak.

Gleneagles Hospital Kuching will be the 19th hospital in IHH Healthcare Malaysia’s network, which now comprises 4 Gleneagles Hospitals, 11 Pantai Hospitals, Island Hospital, Prince Court Medical Centre and Timberland Medical Centre. This new development reaffirms IHH Healthcare Malaysia’s commitment to expanding high-quality and value-based healthcare services in East Malaysia. 

Slated to open in Q2 2028 and located at Jalan Lintang Selatan, the 200-bed Gleneagles Hospital Kuching will offer advanced specialties including cardiology, oncology, orthopaedics and neurology.

Equipped with state-of-the-art medical technology such as AI-assisted diagnostics, robotic surgery systems and advanced imaging facilities, the hospital represents a significant investment of approximately RM400 million. 

Sarawak Premier Datuk Patinggi Tan Sri Abang Johari Tun Openg, who officiated the ceremony, said, “The development of Gleneagles Hospital Kuching is a testament to our commitment to ensuring that Sarawakians have access to quality medical care right here at home. Upon completion, all doctors, facilities, and medical services from Timberland Medical Centre, also part of IHH’s renowned Gleneagles brand, will move to Gleneagles Hospital Kuching.
