India is our fourth home market with a network of 34 Hospitals and more than 5800 licensed beds. In 2015, the Group announced the acquisition of controlling stake in Continental Hospitals and Global Hospitals. The Group has since rebrand the hospitals under the Gleneagles Brand.
In 2018, the Group completed a preferential allotment of 31.17% stake in Fortis Healthcare making the Group its largest shareholder with board control. In addition, IHH also has a 50-50 joint venture with Apollo Hospitals Enterprise Ltd to operate Apollo Gleneagles Hospitals in Kolkata.
IHH is Malaysia's second largest private healthcare provider, based on number of licensed beds. Our hospital network operates under the Pantai and Gleneagles brands and has 16 hospitals with more than 2,500 licensed beds across Malaysia. To support our hospital network, we have ancillary healthcare services including, Pantai Integrated Rehab and Pantai Premier Pathology.
IHH also has an education arm, International Medical University (IMU) and International Medical College (IMC), which offers medical, pharmacy, nursing, dentistry, health science and complementary medicine programmes.
